21/12/2020 - Interview with Deputy Minister of Development and Investment Mr. Yannis Tsakiris for EquiFund at fi-compass

In the context of the presentation as a successful practice of the Business Participation Fund (EquiFund) by fi-compass, a brief interview was held with Deputy Minister of Development Mr. Yiannis Tsakiris, where the successful so far course of EquiFund and the role of this particular financial tool in the development of innovative enterprises in Greece were presented, while mentioning how these enterprises responded to the pandemic crisis. It also commented on the broader role and the way financial instruments of this type should be designed by the Member States of the European Union in order to operate efficiently under international market conditions.

3/11/2020 - Fi - compass tribute to the successful course of EquiFund

The Fund of Funds (EquiFund) which successfully supports innovative entrepreneurship was presented as a case study by Fi-Compass, the European Commission's Platform and the European Investment Bank that presents and advises regarding investment tools of the European Investment and Structural Funds.

1/10/2020 - Invitation for the creation of a Co-Investment Fund with JEREMIE resources

It was announced by the European Investment Fund (EIF), a Call for the creation of a co-investment Fund with Business Angels (Business Angels co-investment fund) in collaboration with the Ministry of Development and Investments. 

A funding of 20 million euros from the JEREMIE Portfolio Fund will be used to finance the Fund.

The JEREMIE Programme began to be implemented in Greece in 2010 and was the first action through which resources from the OP Competitiveness II (PA 2007-2013) were allocated to financing instruments for supporting and financing SMEs through favorable loans.    

Through the Business Angels Investment Fund that will be created, ideas and projects will be supported at an extremely early stage, in order for them to mature into business plans which will then attract the interest of other institutional investors.

11/9/2020 - A significant acquisition in the Greek Startup ecosystem and the contribution of EPAnEK

On August 27, 2020, the largest acquisition ever made of a Greek startup was announced. Specifically, the company Instashop of Giannis Tsioris and Ioanna Angelidaki was acquired by the German Delivery Hero for the amount of 360 million dollars.

13/7/2020 - 1,14 billion euros for SMEs by EPAnEK

With the modification of  the Operational Programme "Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation", that has been approved  by the European Commission, 1.14 billion euros of EU Cohesion policy funds will be allocated in favor of the Greek SMEs. Of this amount, some 600 million euros will be distributed to grants, while the rest will fund financial instruments.

19/6/2019 - EIB and National Bank of Greece launch new green and urban infrastructure investment scheme

- National Bank of Greece first partner bank under EUR 650 million national infrastructure initiative

-Scheme to support renewable, energy efficiency and urban projects

- Innovative new scheme combines EU, national and EIB funds

New investment in renewable energy, energy efficiency and urban development projects across Greece will be supported following the first agreement under a new EUR 650 million infrastructure investment initiative.

The National Bank of Greece is the first partner bank under the Infrastructure Fund of Funds and will identify and invest in new projects expected to include wind and photovoltaic parks, biomass and biogas plants, energy efficiency in public and company buildings. Urban schemes intended to rehabilitate deprived districts and as well as water and waste management and tourism are also expected to benefit.

In addition, the National Bank of Greece will provide own funds and help mobilise additional private funds for the financing of these projects. Other leading banks active in Greece are also expected to become partners under the Infrastructure Fund of Funds.

EYD EPANEK has successfully participated in the 82nd Thessaloniki International Fair, held from September 9th to 17th. The 1500 exhibitors who participated and the attendance of more than 260,000 visitors make it the greatest of the decade.
